16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM CAMPAIGN OPENING CEREMONY

MBOMBELA- On November 25, 2018 Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison, MEC Pat Ngomane opened the 16 Days of Activism for no Violence Against Women and Children ceremony which was held at Zwelisha outside Mbombela.

The objective is to create awareness about the abuse of women, children and people living with disabilities. The campaign will end on 10 December 2018, a day also known as International Human Rights Day. This year campaign is commemorated under a theme: Hear me too: end Violence against Women and Children. Various activities are planned throughout the province to mobilise all sectors of society against abuse. Various  Provincial departments of Human Settlements, Health, Social Development, Correctional Services, Home Affairs, City of Mbombela, traditional leadership and various community organizations will raise their voices against abuse and encourage communities to act against the abuse of women and children for 365 days a year.
